Contacts
A contact is an extra person on your account - for example a colleague, your developer, or your accountant - with their own sign-in and a set of permissions you choose. Contacts let you give people access without sharing your own password, and let you grant each person only what they need.
Important
The primary contact is always the first point of contact should a critical incident on your environment occur. Keep its details up to date so Hosted Power can always reach the right people.
Add a contact
- In the left sidebar, select Manage contacts.
- Open the Contacts tab and select Add new contact.
- Enter the person's name and email and set a password.
- Choose the permissions they should have (see below).
- Save the contact. The person can now sign in with their own details.
On the invite tab you can also invite an existing individual contact, for example an external consultant, instead of creating a new one.
Permissions
Permissions decide what a contact (or a team) can see and do, and which emails they receive. Grant only what each person needs: some permissions are high-impact, and several also turn on automatic emails.
The permissions are grouped:
Important
The two email-related groups are opt-in per contact: a contact only receives billing emails if they have the billing permissions, and technical/support notifications if they have the support permissions. The main account holder is different - it always receives billing and support emails by default. You change that under Account details > Settings > Notifications.
Status: active or closed
Each contact and each team has a Status setting. Set it to active to allow the permissions you granted, or to closed to suspend access. When a contact or team is closed, all of its permissions are denied until you set it back to active. This lets you revoke access temporarily without deleting the contact or team.
Billing contact
Under the contact list, the Billing contact setting controls which details appear on invoices. Leave it on None, use main profile details to bill the main account holder, or choose a contact. Select Save changes to apply.
